The Nainital Guide began as a way to stop travellers overpaying for stays we knew weren't worth it.
Three years ago we were fielding the same questions every day at a family-run guesthouse — which hotel is actually lake-facing, which driver won't overcharge for Sattal, when the temple gets too crowded to enjoy. The Nainital Guide is that notebook, turned into a proper local travel desk.
We still walk every new hotel listing ourselves and ride every new tour route before it's published — that hasn't changed as the list has grown.
